Carpal Tunnel Myths

I don't have any pain so I can't have carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).
I don't do any repetitive tasks or have a repetitive job – how can I have CTS?
It is normal for my hand to be numb.
My hands fall asleep at night because I sleep on them.
I have CTS in my left hand but I am right handed – How can that be?
My brother had surgery for CTS and it didn't work, so surgery won't work for me.
I am a diabetic, so surgery won't be successful, because the numbness is due to diabetic neuropathy.
Surgery is painful.
I will be out of work for a long time after surgery.
My hands will never be normal again after surgery.
Once you have surgery you will develop CTS again.
There are alternative treatments that are just as successful as surgery.
